Peticolas is one of my favorite breweries, not just in Texas, but anywhere. For now, they do not bottle or can their beer, so I had to get some of their beer in a growler to include it in this challenge. Every style that they brew is done to the extreme and perfectly well. This is no exception. The beer is well balanced, has good flavor but not overly spiced, and strong! Winter ales have fallen out of favor with me recently, but Peticolas beers are always better than average.
Even if Winter ales aren’t my favorite style of beer, I would hope that winter continues to be a season for the rest of my life, and my children’s lives and so on. Global warming puts that in danger. 16 out of the 17 hottest years on record have been since 2001. All evidence points to global warming being a huge issue, but our current president wants to pretend the issue doesn’t exist. Scientists are having none of it and I look forward to the fight against our president’s ignorance.
On an (unrelated) note, I just want to say that beer lovers all over Texas should appreciate what Michael Peticolas is doing for the Texas beer industry. For the consumer, the hope is that it will make it easier for more breweries to reach us where we live here in Texas. Finally, the brewery has just opened a new taproom and I hope to visit it soon!
Idiotic Trump Tweet of the Day
This is one of the COLDEST WINTERS ever, freezing all over the country for long periods of time! So much for GLOBAL WARMING.
