Beer Notes

This is a perfectly OK beer.  It was brewed with spruce tips and they add a nice flavor to the beer.  It is very smooth tasting as well, but in the end it isn’t very interesting.  It’s a decent beer, and I’d drink it again if someone handed me one, but I wouldn’t seek it out.

Other Notes

This evening, Trump announced his pick to fill the Supreme Court position that opened up almost a year ago after Antonin Scalia’s death.  His pick, Neil Gorsuch, looks like he will be a lot like the person he is aiming to replace.  Under normal circumstances, there probably wouldn’t be much stopping him from being confirmed.  These are not normal circumstances.  For all of last year, Republicans refused to consider Obama’s nomination, Merrick Garland.  Beyond that, they were threatening to obstruct anyone that Hillary Clinton were to nominate were she to be elected.  For now, there is still the filibuster for Supreme Court picks so I’m not sure why Democrats would do anything but obstruct this pick that should have been Obama’s to fill.  And if the Republicans decide to get rid of the filibuster, then they will get Trump’s pick, and that will mark the end of the filibuster.
