You’d never be able to tell by looking at this beer, but it’s a stout. And it’s a good one. There is a bit of coffee and a very strong flavor of vanilla. When I think of the best breweries in DFW, I haven’t usually considered Texas Ale Project, but I’m starting to come around. They have several good IPAs and now I can add a stout as well. Right now this one is only available on tap. Hopefully they will realize what they have here, expand production, and start canning it.
Yesterday, I saw a graphic that said “Don’t blame me, I voted for Voldemort” (fictional villian from Harry Potter if you’re the one person that doesn’t know). My girlfriend explained to me that Voldemort is still worse than Trump because he had no problem with killing children. Fair point.
On an unrelated note, there is more information coming out about this past weekend’s military raid in Yemen. At this point, there is more rumor than fact, but it sounds like Trump authorized the raid to get an early military victory. This raid had been in the planning stages since the end of the Obama administration, but Obama had not yet ordered it because there wasn’t good enough intelligence to justify the operation. Trump ordered it to proceed without additional information. The numbers vary, but there are reports that at least 16 civilians were killed, including 8 children. One of those children was an 8 year old American citizen. A Navy SEAL was also killed during the raid. By all accounts, not a single thing went right here. But surely there will be a congressional investigation to sort out the facts.
