Beer Notes

The first sip of this was really a holy shit moment.  Immediately I tasted fruit (raisins? sweet cherries?) and then the booziness hit hard.  It’s strong, smooth, and very lightly carbonated.  And I knew a sip or two later that this was the best barleywine I ever had.    I’ve had a couple other fantastic ones (Bourbon County Brand Barleywine and Double DBA), but neither of those stick out in my memory as much as I think this one will.  Revolution is one of my favorite breweries and I always make sure to get some when I go up to Chicago to visit family.  Now I can include this one with Deth’s Tar as world class beers from the brewery.

Here’s a note on the glass.  I got this while at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.  The Penguin Hops beer was brewed using hops grown on the Shedd Aquarium property.  I tried the beer while visiting the brewery a few years back and it’s worth a taste if you’re in town.

Other Thoughts

People love Donald Trump now!  I mean, not really, but the media, as usual is easily manipulated.  The popular opinion seems to be that he was “surprisingly presidential”. I’m not entirely sure what that means.  Refer back to my post from yesterday which are things he said within a day of last night’s address.  Those comments alone are enough to disqualify any talk of him being presidential.  And when you add in the fact that most of the statements during his speech were lies, we are really not in a different place than we were yesterday.

Also, Trump’s Attorney General Jeff Sessions lied to the Senate during his confirmation hearing.  I think it’s called perjury but I’m not a lawyer.

OH! I didn’t even tie in the beer name to the fact that our government is completely crazy right now I’M SO SORRY!
