Beer Notes

I saw a few comparisons between this beer and Goose Island’s Bourbon County Brand Stout.  The comparison is understandable because both breweries are now owned by AB InBev.  And, surprisingly, it’s not a bad comparison.  I do wonder which one I would prefer in a blind taste test.  But my instinct is to say that it’s not as good as Goose Island’s, but it’s still very good.  There’s a great chocolate and whiskey flavor along with a bit of vanilla, maybe?  It tastes stronger than 11% as well.  I’m writing this after drinking the whole bottle and it’s a great feeling from a great beer.

Other Thoughts

So there was some great news from the CBO today about Trumpcare!  If it becomes law, I will probably save several thousand per year in insurance premiums.  As it turns out, the most important thing with Trumpcare is that you’re not poor or old and I’m neither of those things so it’ll be OK for me.  But not really.  That’s not how a society works.  You need to care about everyone.  And this bill does not do that.  The numbers have been crunched and this bill would cost a 65 year old making 26k a year more than 10k more per year.  Which you might be able to conclude they can’t afford.  As a liberal, the fact that Trump and Republicans don’t care about ALL people is the one thing that I will always have the hardest time understanding.
