Beer Notes

This is the third beer that I’ve had in this challenge from Lakewood’s Seduction Series, after the Raspberry Temptress and French Quarter Temptress. I think it’s the best one so far.  The Temptress is a great Imperial Milk Stout already, and they add in some heat from various chilies (which feels stronger as the beer warms up), cinnamon, and cocoa.  The result is magical and delicious.  Starting this year, Lakewood is also releasing versions of these Seduction Series beers that have been barrel aged (not yet sure if they are all bourbon barrels but I am guessing so).  So far, they have released the Barrel-aged Raspberry Temptress, which was even better than the already great Raspberry Temptress. I think the barrel aging will complement the flavors in this beer quite well and I can’t wait to give it a try when they release it.

Other Thoughts

It’s hard to keep track of all the dumpster fires the Trump team has been starting, but they have lit some more with their proposed budget.  They are cutting just about every government program you can think of, except for defense (and of course the wall… which I thought Mexico was supposed to pay for).  There has been a spotlight on a couple of these programs, especially Meals on Wheels.  I’ll admit that I didn’t know much about the program but apparently it provides meals to over half a million veterans every year.  Why would we get rid of this?

Literally everything they are trying to do with this budget is awful.  It’s almost like they just want the world to burn. And speaking of that, here is a quote from Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney:
