I’ve had a couple beers from Alesmith before. I think they are best known for their imperial stout (Speedway Stout) which I’ve tried and it’s delicious. This beer, while not bad, is nothing too special. It’s not bad, but it’s very sweet, with a bit of fruit and a slightly bitter finish. It’s a little bit like cough syrup.
Today was the day (for sure) that the House was going to vote on Trumpcare. They didn’t. It’s now being scheduled for tomorrow and it is hard to imagine they have the votes. They have been working to revise it and appeal to the House Freedom Caucus by further weakening the bill. While this may get some of them to vote for the bill, it has also been turning off other Republicans. Right now, it looks like there are at least 30 Republicans who are against the bill, and they can’t afford to lose more than 22. Even if they do manage to find the balance needed to pass the bill, it’s hard to imagine it will do well in the Senate. It’s unclear whether or not they will have the votes to do anything, but it sounds like we will find out tomorrow.
