This is a perfect sour beer. It’s very dark, nearly black, and is an aged version of their black quad which was made sour and aged with black currants. The aroma is dark fruit and caramel. Flavor is tart with chocolate and caramel and a strong plum and berry flavor (black currant I’m sure, but I don’t actually know what they taste like). It’s sour, but not overwhelming. Just wonderful and flavorful from start to finish. There is definitely strong competition in Texas for the best sour brewery.
I’ve kept myself in the dark a bit this weekend, as a nice change of pace from constantly worrying about everything Trump is doing to set our country on the wrong track. Like I said yesterday, he’s probably just golfing anyways. There was big news locally, however, as thousands marched in the Dallas Mega March today for immigration reform. It looks like it was a big success!
