Dosvidanya means goodbye in Russian. I’m saving the top rated beers (by Untappd) in my collection for the final ten days of the challenge, but if I hadn’t been doing that, this beer would have been the perfect ending. Now, just because this beer isn’t one of the best according to Untappd, that doesn’t mean it’s not incredible. It is. The predominant flavor is dark roasted coffee, accompanied by chocolate and caramel. Alcohol is present as well, but mostly masked by the other strong flavors. I’ve had a bunch of barrel aged stouts in this challenge, but this one is unique and really stands out. One of the best I’ve ever had.
I was hoping for some big Trump-Russian news before I cracked this beer open, but it keeps lingering just below the surface and I think that if it ever bursts open, that it will happen after this challenge is over. So here we are today with a Russian Imperial Stout and no real Russian news. There are a couple smaller items related to Russia. Rex Tillerson will be visiting Moscow this week and apparently won’t even meet with Putin (maybe because he’s mad about the current situation in Syria).
