Only one pumpkin beer today. Avery’s Pump[ky]n is an 18.8% ABV porter aged in bourbon barrels. I’m pretty sure I’ve had liquor that is weaker than that.
This is a pretty spectacular beer and a good way to celebrate Indictment Day. There is no hiding how boozy it is, but it’s pretty well balanced. There is some cinnamon and clove along with a bit of bourbon sweetness and just a bit of burn from the alcohol on the finish. If you sip this one it’s very good. If you chug it, you might end up in the hospital.
